40/1 £70 Circular cast iron Wagon Plate “Repairs Advise Doncaster Wagon Co. Ltd.” Face restored, back in primer. Uncommon. 40/108 £160 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “74A” (Ashford). BR(S) Eastleigh triangle to back. Face restored only.
40/3 £100 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “14A” (Cricklewood). Face restored only. 40/109 £450 Great Central Rly. 12in (300mm) roundhead Wall Clock with a small spring wound movement set in ‘A’ frames stamped with a monogram. “GB” on an anchor below a coronet. The dial written “Fitton Heywood G.C.Ry No. 91”. The ebonised cabinet features two circular glazed apertures in the sides of the back box to view the movement. A nice looking restored clock in working order complete with small pendulum and key.
40/4 £100 LNER Docking Lamp with spherical red globe and carrying handle. Brass plates to chimney “LNER Stores D.E.D” (Docks Engineers Dept.) and “Newton Bros. & Holiday Makers Hull”. The burner / vessel assembly is missing but a very scarce lamp in very good ex-service condition. 40/111 £100 GNR cast iron Doorplate “Checkers” in the style later adopted by the LNER. “GNR” clearly impressed into the top face of the plate which is face restored only.
40/26 £120 Cheshire Lines Committee fully titled Trespass Notice. Face restored only. 40/118 £60 “LNER Hotels” china Cream Tot by Dudson in the two tone blue colourway with relief classical cherubs. The title base marked. v.g.c. 58mm. tall (2.2in).
40/32 £75 London & Birmingham Rly. oval cast iron Bridge Number Plate “92”. Face restored only. 40/136 £475 BR(S) fully flanged enamel Station Totem Sign “Reedham”. General flange wear and one creased wing with subsequent damage. A pity as the rest of the totem is in superb order. A former SE&CR station opened as Reedham Halt in 3/1911. Closed 1/1917. Re-opened 1/1919 and the ‘Halt’ dropped in 7/1936.

40/52 £250 “The Great Northern and London and North Western Joint committee” fully titled cast iron Trespass Notice. A welded repair to a central break is just beginning to crack slightly. Many of these signs ended up broken due to the thin casting. 40/137 £900 Cast brass Locomotive Crest of the Duke of Wellington’s Regiment as carried by a Longmoor Military Railway 0-6-2T built by Kitson (Works No. 2977) in 1886. It was originally Taff Vale Rly. No. 168 becoming GWR No. 579. Withdrawn by the GWR in Oct. 1926 the loco went to Longmoor in March 1927 and was named “Kitchener”. It was renamed “Wellington” in 1938 when this crest of the Duke was fitted. The Duke of Wellington although a Field Marshall was not a commissioned officer in the Royal Engineers so was not entitled to have a Royal Engineers crest applied above the nameplate. The loco was scrapped circa 1940 at Longmoor. The crest is 8.75in dia and is stamped in the back “LMR Wellington” & “R” for right side. The crest is mounted onto a painted wooden backing board with a replica cast brass “Wellington” nameplate in the correct style which is 31in. long. A very nicely presented pair. A folder of paperwork and photos relating to Wellington and the Longmoor Military Railway accompanies the lot.
40/56 £300 Brown & Jones 3 aspect Handlamp featuring the patented lever operation of selecting the coloured aspects. Impressive embossed brass plate to front “Brown & Jones Patentees No. 16373 J.Cowdy Sole Manufacturer 40A Queen St. Cannon St. London” with ornate Victorian coat of arms. Complete with original vessel with twin tube rape oil burner, reflector, copper lens cone, brass fittings, all glasses (blue cracked) and fully working mechanism. Lamps of this pattern were used in small numbers by the GWR. A nice restored example. 40/147 £120 Cast aluminium Diesel Depot Plaque featuring the leaping cat of Crewe Depot. Little sign of it being carried so probably a depot spare.
40/59 £80 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “55F” (Manningham). Face restored only. 40/149 £80 LNER cast iron Doorplate “Ladies Waiting Room”. Face restored, the back in primer but definitely o.k.
40/66 £60 Southern Railway Marine Dept. silver plated Sugar Sprinkler by Elkington. A nice ladle shaped item with an ornately perforated bowl. Crisply top marked with “Southern Ry” scroll below the company house flag. v.g.c. 40/174   Cast brass Locomotive Nameplate “Puku” as carried by LNER Class B1 4-6-0 Loco built at Darlington (Works No. 1992) to Traffic Nov. 1946. Became BR No. 61012 in June 1948. Withdrawn June 1967 from York and cut up by Hughes Bolckow at Blyth. The nameplate is restored and lightly polished on the face only. The back is clearly stamped “L1012” although at some point it was “R1012”. Plenty of service marks and the sides are ex-loco bevelled to fit to the smokebox side. A fine plate 759mm. (29.8in) long. The Puku is the shortest horned waterbuck and is found in Uganda and the Sudan.
40/71 £120 BR(Western Region) double royal pictorial Poster “Warwick Castle” by Bagley. A dramatic view of the impressive fortress with the river below. A couple of minor edge nicks only. No folds,rolled only. 40/175   Rhondda &Swansea Bay Rly. large 25mm. brass script “R&SBR” Button. (Frog. 25/7). No back maker. v.g.c.
40/79 £65 “LMS Elvanfoot” brass headed Seal on a turned ebonised handle. v.g.c. A former Caledonian station north of Beattock Summit. Closed in Jan 1965. 40/181 £100 GNR 3 aspect Handlamp. Copper plate to top “Old Leake”. No visible body markings as the metalwork is a tad pitted and the top markings will be under the location plate. Complete with fore & aft vessel, rape oil burner, reflector, copper lens cone and all glasses. Restored.
40/88 £60 Great North of Scotland Rly. silver plated Oyster Fork by “M.H. & Co.” from the Palace Hotel, Aberdeen. Crisply top marked “Palace Hotel” on a belted garter around “G.N.S.R.” v.g.c.
