1 Circular cast iron Wagon Plate “Repairs Advise Doncaster Wagon Co. Ltd.” Face restored, back in primer. Uncommon. 11 London Transport cast iron Bridge Number Plate “U21” from the Uxbridge Branch. Face restored only.
2 Large oval cast brass Locomotive Builders Plate “Andrew Barclay Sons & Co. Limited Caledonia Works Kilmarnock No. 344. 1941”. As carried by WD standard type 0-4-0 Diesel Mech. Loco 153HP No. 869. Ex works Jan 1941 to R.O.F. Bishopton as their No. 3. To various Army & Navy establishments between 1965 and 1972 (Bicester, East Riggs and Dean Hill). To Lakeside & Haverthwaite Rly. July 1980 except the engine which was returned to Bicester. Dismantled by 1984 and scrapped. The plate is in fine condition face restored only. 426x296mm. (16.75x11.6in). 12 Pair of mahogany cased Signal Box Block Instruments with pegging handles: Midland example in v.g.c. but locking screw at fault: GNR example in good ex-box condition but front glass and three pieces of glazing bead missing. 3 Cast iron Locomotive Shedplate “14A” (Cricklewood). Face restored only. 13 LNER 3 aspect GNR pattern Handlamp with side catches and double fluted top which is stamped “LNER 1491”. The body stamped “LNER 1958” has a full title company brass plate stamped “Doncaster Min” (i.e. Minerals). Complete with “BR(E)” fore & aft vessel, burner, reflector and all glasses. Nicely restored.
4 LNER Docking Lamp with spherical red globe and carrying handle. Brass plates to chimney “LNER Stores D.E.D” (Docks Engineers Dept.) and “Newton Bros. & Holiday Makers Hull”. The burner / vessel assembly is missing but a very scarce lamp in very good ex-service condition. 14 ‘Syx’ brass cased Home Signal Repeater. Very good ex-signal box condition with the arm pivotting freely.
5 LMS lead crystal Sandwich Plate. The company initials superbly engraved against an acid etched panel with brilliant cut decoration. A lovely ornately shaped plate thought to be be produced for the official LMS streamlined train which toured the USA in the 1930’s. 15 LNER oval cast iron Works Number Plate “London & North Eastern Railway 69107 Darlington Works 1903” as carried by ex-North Eastern Rly ‘U’ Class 0-6-2T which became LNER Class ‘N10’ No. 1711. A class of only 19 locos. A Hull Dairycoates Loco all of its BR life until withdrawal in Nov. 1957. It was cut up at Darlington Works in Jan 1958. Face restored only.
6 LBSCR silver and enamelled Medallion titled “The Brighton Railway Athletic Club” around the company coat of arms. The reverse inscribed “Inter-Dept. Champ. Rifle Range Section 1922 H.Harland”. Hallmarked and in superb condition. (See also lot no. 323). 16 LM&SR Co. fully titled cast iron Trespass Notice dated 1924. Face painted only, the letters not picked out.
7 “Great Central Ry” cast iron Trespass Notice. Face restored, back painted. From Tuxford Yard. 17 Set of four “Nameplates of the Locomotives” Pubs by Frank H.A.Burridge 1947. LMS, LNER, GWR & SR. All have no underlining. Light soiling of LNER otherwise v.g.c. throughout. (4)
8 London & South Western Rly. 3 aspect Guards Handlamp with notched brass ring to top of body and offset wire side catch. The top stamped “L&SWR” and the body “L&SWR Co. 5525”. Complete with correct “SR” Eastleigh pattern vessel & reflector, “BR/SR” burner and all glasses. A nicely restored early lamp, a side door convert. 18 South African Railways Bi-Lingual oval cast aluminium Locomotive Cabside large brass plates “Area Manager Highland Lines Dingwall” & “Goods Accounts Office Glasgow”. Good ex-service condition.
9 BR(NE) fully flanged station Direction Enamel Sign with “BR” full title totem. Chips to edges & flanges & 2 to main area. Good colour & shine. 535x268mm. (21x10.5in). 20 “Great Central Ry. Dining Car” silver plated four slice Toast Rack by Walker & Hall. Nicely top marked with the full title and ‘Forward’ crest to both ends. v.g.c.
10 Lancs & Yorks Rly. Rosette Horse Brass incised “LYR Co” around the conical centre. (Hawthorn Type 41). Small edge bump otherwise v.g.c. and complete with back loop.
